I own an 08 kawasaki ninja 250r. i bought it second hand and have been riding it as my first motorcycle for 2 years now. i 'm considering buying a brand new yamaha r6, i 'm just wondering should i make that leap in power or get something like a 400cc. i 'm a pretty confident rider but i want something that i can commute and go rides on the open road (something the ninja struggles at) (Read answers)

I recently purchased the above sport bike for $6k. beautiful bike, not a scratch on it. problem is, i 've never rode a sport bike before. i know, a lot of bike for a beginner but whatever, it 's how i live my life. question is, does anyone have recommendations on how i should go about getting proper training for riding this bike? i don 't mind paying money, and need some thorough lessons. help! Help! 2006 Yamaha R6 Wiring Problems?
Okay, so here is the deal. i have a 2006 raven edition yamaha r6. i was riding it a few months ago and it ghosted. all the lights turned off, speedo zeroed out, everything turned off...except for the bike. i was still going like everything was normal, but no lights or anything. took it to the shop. they fixed the problem, but now there are more problems. here are the changes that happened...now the clutch has to be pulled in order for it to start, it will not start in neutral unless my kickstand is up, if i put the kickstand down while the bike is in neutral it 'll kill it, and my neutral light doesn 't work. these may just be wiring issues, but it 's made me scared to ride my own motorcycle. any advice would be helpful and please don 't ask me to take it back to that shop, cause it 's not going to happen. Tank Removal For Yamaha R6?
I have a 2004 yamaha r6 and i need take my gas tank off, currently the bike it on e and the gas light is on buy it still has gas in it. i have an owners manual but its not that detailed, idk if i should wait until im totally out of gas or it doesn 't matter. the manual doesn 't state witch plastics to take off in removing the gas tank. there is also alot of tubes that need to be disconnected and if someone could get a picture which is what that would be awesome. 2006 Cbr 600 Or 2007 Yamaha R6?
I am thinking about getting either 2006 cbr 600 or 2007 r6 and cant decided which is one will be better for me. i would like light bike and that doesnt has huge gas tank. if i am not mistaken cbr 600 is much heavier and has bigger gas tank than r6 does. can you please help me out with that? Ninja 250r Or Yamaha R6 For First Bike?
I am aware of both issues of this common argument.1) i am fully aware that the 250r is a great starter bike and helps a rider with little or none experience.2) i am aware that a r6 is a fast machine that experienced riders handle and aren 't a toy to be riding on if you aren 't experienced.in conclusion, i am asking what to get for my first bike..i would like to get a 250r for my first bike for experience and handling. the issue is i will grow out of it quickly and in month or so i won 't have the money to buy a r6 because i spent it on the 250r. should i just drive a r6 in a parking lot for 1week or so to feel for it and practice braking and emergency stops etc. or buy a smaller bike and work my way up which i don 't know if i will have the funds to do? Yamaha R6 2003 Battery Keeps Dying?
Borrowed a bike from a friend. the battery he had in it was old and dead. bought a new battery, rode well for about 2 days then the check engine light came on, all the lights quickly there after went out and the bike died and the bike wouldn 't start. i push started it. i bought a new battery again well retrned the old one, same thing. i did some research and thought it might be the stator ( alernator). i replaced it yesterday, gave the battery a full charge and about an hr of riding, same thing, check engine light came on, lights went out and the bike died. any suggestions? i have no other ideas if i just replaced the stator and it 's still dying with a brand new battery. My 2002 Yamaha R6 Died On Me While Riding! What's Wrong?
I bought a 2002 yamaha r6 with 25,000 miles on it yesterday, and drove it from atlanta to birmingham with no issues at all, aside from needing the carburetor adjusted. then, while i was riding it yesterday night, the battery went dead. all my electronics went dead, everything just stopped working. i stopped a friendly passer-by and they hooked jumper cables up to my battery and let it charge. i assumed it was a faulty alternator, so after 10 minutes plugged up to the car, i was able to get back home. this morning, i went to try and start the bike and it cranked right up, no problems. so i decide to take it for a ride for about an hour. i take it by autozone to have them check the alternator, and they said it was sending power to the battery, but my cca on the battery were bad (73 cold cranking amps) and it needed to be replaced. then i 'm traveling down the road, and the same thing happens. all my electronics go dead and the bike winds down to a halt, nothing working. i have my girlfriend come and try to jump me off, but this time i can 't even get the bike to turn on while it 's hooked up to the car. what 's wrong with my bike?? do i just need a new battery or do i have a much larger electrical issue? the alternator appears to be working. could the solenoid be bad? opinions please. Here is the thing. i 'm a 15 year old kid and i 'm thinking about getting a motorcycle when i am 16. i was thinking about a yamaha r6. now i know i 'm going to get bashed by this. the thing is, i 'm not so "rich " as other people. if i were to buy a ninja 250r, i wouldn 't have enough money to buy a r6 when i 'm "ready " for it. i know the r6 can send you into an object in a matter of seconds and stuff like that. i 'm planning to take a motorcycle safety course before getting the bike. i heard 50/ 50 so far. trust me, i 'm not those immature teens looking for trouble. i know when to respect things. so my question is, if i respect the bike the way it need be, then can i perhaps start out on one?so i 'm guessing i should get a ninja...would the 650r work out? or is it the same story as with the r6? i understand the problems with starting out on such a big bike. one more question for the sake of wondering, how would a r6 or cbr600rr work out with someone was afraid to use all the power on the bike and took it super slow?p.s. as i am talking about buying "the bike " i mean as in buying a used one, not a brand new one. and i don 't mean i 'm that poor to not afford the insurance and gear but i need to work with the money more efficiently.
